A NEW hub to help people recover from substance abuse has opened in Rugby.
Change Grow Live (CGL) has refurbished the space above its current venue in Albert Street into a Recovery Hub to support local service users’ ongoing rehabilitation by providing a range of activities.
The hub was officially opened at a launch event last week, giving stakeholders a chance to meet the teams and find out what services they offer, attend presentations and educational sessions, experience a sound bath and mindfulness sessions, and learn more about CGL’s new partnership with Intuitive Thinking Skills (ITS) and their Ambassador Programme.
Warwickshire Partnership Manager for CGL, Chris Saunders, said: “It was a hugely successful and enjoyable day attended by service users, volunteers, partnership agencies as well as local dignitaries including Rugby MP John Slinger and the Mayor of Rugby, Coun Barbara Brown.”
CGL has recently been recommissioned by Warwickshire County Council (WCC) to continue to provide the Adult Substance Misuse Service in the county from its hubs in Rugby, Leamington, Stratford and Nuneaton.
Coun Anne-Marie Sonko, Warwickshire County Council’s spokesperson for Adult Social Care and Health, said: “Change Grow Live will continue its great work across Warwickshire at the hubs and outreach venues, which play a crucial part in supporting vulnerable residents to live happy, healthy, and independent lives.
“We are delighted at the launch of the Warwickshire Recovery Hub and the work going on alongside Intuitive Thinking Skills and their Ambassador Programme and look forward to working with CGL and the team going forward.”
