A HATE crime in which a man allegedly assaulted and racially abused his victim before vandalising his car reportedly took place on Sunday afternoon (July 3).
A man was arrested after it is alleged he punched a man and racially abused him before smashing the rear window of his car in Woodbridge Court.
A police officer reported being bitten by the suspect as she detained him.
A 55-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of committing a racially aggravated public order offence, criminal damage, assault, assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing a police officer. He was later bailed while enquiries continue.
