A CHILD has reportedly been sexually assaulted in a village near Rugby.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault yesterday (Wednesday August 3) following an incident in Long Lawford the previous night (Tuesday August 2).
Police were called shortly after 9pm on Tuesday to a report of a sexual assault on a child.
After the incident, the suspect was reported to have driven off in a silver vehicle on Woodleigh Road.
Det Insp Gareth Unett from Warwickshire Police said: “The child is currently being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is ongoing.
“As part of our enquiries, we would like to speak to anyone who may witnessed any suspicious behaviour, or who may have any CCTV or dashcam footage of this area between 8pm and 9pm last night to please come forward.”
