Lutterworth residents invited to join money-saving energy bill scheme

A MONEY-saving energy bill scheme is on offer to residents in the Lutterworth area.

Harborough District Council’s Big Community Switch initiative, launched in partnership with iChoosr, may be able to help households save money by switching to lower energy tariffs as part of a group.

Residents can sign up to the scheme in which energy companies bid against each other to provide the lowest tariffs.

Once the cheapest supplier is identified, residents who have signed up to the scheme can choose whether to proceed and sign up with the new supplier.

Coun Darren Woodiwiss, Harborough District Council’s spokesman for the environment and climate change, said: “At a time when the cost of household energy bills are sky high, the Big Community Switch can help residents switch energy suppliers, move to a renewable electricity tariff and save money on their energy bills.”

Visit www.harborough.gov.uk/bigcommunityswitch to register for free and without obligation before June 21. Offers will be made from July 4.
