THE HOTTEST Early May Bank Holiday Monday ever provided the perfect backdrop to this year’s Rotary Spring Fair.

Visitors met the animals at the Animal Petting Farm, laughed at the antics of K9 Quackers – dogs herding geese – and tried their circus skills out with Wolly the Clown.

Dancers from Impact Dance, fledgling ninjas from G-Force Martial Arts and young singers and musicians from Rugby Area Talent Trust entertained crowds as they cooled down with drinks and ice-creams.

The little ones kept themselves entertained with bouncy castles, trampolines, slides and zorbs, while older kids headed straight for the funfair.

Many community groups were represented among around 50 stalls, also offering wares including arts, crafts, food and drink.

Willy Goldschmidt, Marketing Lead for the three Rotary Clubs which organised the event, said: “It was a great day and we would like to thank the volunteers from the Rotary Clubs in Rugby for all the hard work they put into preparing for the event and on the day.

“We are yet to tot up all the takings but we hope to have raised some £12,000 for local charities and youth groups supported by Rotary.

“Of course we could not have booked such great attractions and provided the necessary facilities for the event without the support of our main sponsors Houlton and all the firms which supported the Fair with adverts and sponsorship of individual performances.”
