THE FIRST Literary Festival in Rugby is set to cast a spell on the town next weekend (October 18-20).
The Halloween-themed festival will celebrate local writers, readers and artists with a series of workshops, walks, storytelling events, book fairs and music at a variety of town centre venues.
The event is being organised by Rugby First in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and local author Lindsay Woodward.
Lindsay said: “The idea for a Rugby Literary Festival has been around for a number of years and I am so pleased that we have been able to get the first one off the ground.
“It promises to offer an entertaining, fun and educational weekend for everyone so please come and join us at one or more of the festival events.”
Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “I am so pleased with the amount of interest and support we have had from individuals, organisations and town centre businesses in helping to bring the first festival to life.”
Many festival events are free, but booking in advance is advised. Visit www.rugbyfirst.org for more information and the full programme of events.
