A HUSBAND and wife, known across the Midlands as radio presenters, appeared in court today charged with child sex offences.
Tony and Julie Wadsworth, who have worked as radio hosts for the BBC, appeared before magistrates at Warwickshire Justice Centre in Leamington to confirm their names and address.
The Wadsworths, from Broughton Astley near Lutterworth, most recently worked for BBC Leicester but in December it was reported they were off-air dealing with “personal issues”.
The pair have been charged with a string of sex offences – allegedly to have occurred between 1996 and 1999 in Atherstone.
Mr Wadsworth, 68, has been accused of five counts of inciting a boy under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency, and Mrs Wadsworth, 58, is charged with seven counts of the same offence.
The couple have also been charged with a separate case of gross public indecency.
Their trial is due to take place at Warwick Crown Court on Friday June 10.
