AVON Valley School reported ‘significant’ increases in the grades achieved by its students in English and maths, with science also seeing an increase in student attainment.

Almost a quarter of students achieved a grade 9 in at least one subject.

Some of the school’s highest achieving students included Ruby R, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s, and a level 2 distinction*.

Kayleigh T achieved a grade 9, six grade 8s, a grade 7 and a level 2 distinction*.

Charlotte B achieved two grade 9s, two grade 8s, four grade 7s, and a level 2 distinction*.

And Kristof K achieved a grade 9, four grade 8s, three grade 7s, and two distinctions.

Grace B and Charlie S exceeded their target grade across every subject.

Headteacher Blake Francis said: “We are so proud of our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved in their GCSE and vocational qualifications this year. Their results are the well-deserved outcome of their hard work, determination and positive attitude throughout their time with us.

“Our students have shown great resilience and ambition, and we couldn’t be more delighted to celebrate their success today. I would also like to thank our teaching and support staff, whose care, encouragement and dedication have played such an important role in preparing students to reach their potential. We look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve in the exciting next chapter of their journeys.”

“This year’s results demonstrate our continued commitment to both our academic and vocational subjects. An impressive 64% of our students achieved a Level 2 pass in both their English and maths, with over 58% of all of our students gaining 5 or more Level 2 qualifications.

“These results highlight the work ethic, determination and positive approach our students have undertaken throughout the academic year. Our students’ success would not be possible without the continued support from parents and carers, our dedicated staff and the wider Avon Valley School community.

“Congratulations to the class of 2025.”
