A COLLECTION for Ukraine residents is being organised by four Rugby residents.
Magda Domska, Michalina Gorna, Anna Bobinska-Fratczak and Lukasz Lopata, Polish nationals who have lived in the UK for a number of years, are arranging their third collection of various medicines, toiletries, food and drink, and essentials.
The gifts they collect are sent to Pila, a city in Poland, where the Mewa Foundation distributes the items to people in Ukraine.
Removal Solutions Rugby has offered its premises as a collection point for people to drop off their donations.
Magda said she and her friends organise the collections out of a willingness to help people in need.
She said: “Seeing the enormity of people fleeing to our home country, we decided to act, imagining ourselves in their situation. None of us would like to be left without help in such difficult times.
“We want to collect the most necessary things – not only for the army, but also for the civilians who stay there and fight.
“Our first collection was done without any organisation, and it ended with a huge success. The second collection was more organised and the gifts were successfully delivered to their destination once again.
“Thanks to the kindness of many good people, we are able to make a third collection – and this time we know exactly what we are doing.
“Thanks to the courtesy of Removal Solutions Rugby, we have the opportunity to collect even more, as they have made their place available as a collection point, after which all items are brought to us.
“There are many people involved in our campaign and we would like to thank them. We would like the whole community of Rugby to know that good things are happening in our town.
“All donations, no matter how small, are very appreciated.”
Items can be donated at Removal Solutions Rugby, Unit 9, Pelham Road from 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
