Doctor and former head boy to support Fatboy Slim on UK tour

A DOCTOR and former Warwick School head boy is set to support Fatboy Slim on his upcoming UK tour.

Kishan Bodalia – who goes by the stage name Bodalia – gained a following during the pandemic by launching ‘NHS Sessions’, which saw him perform live DJ sets from his kitchen on social media, after finishing his hospital shifts.

Now the 26-year-old – who works at a hospital in Birmingham and lives in Coventry – will support Fatboy Slim at his sell-out show for NHS workers in Brighton in November this year.

He said: “I am so excited to be supporting Fatboy Slim. It’s a dream come true.”

The doctor – who did not stop performing on social media even when he was self-isolating with coronavirus – has since had numerous appearances as a guest DJ on BBC Radio One and featured in campaigns for Sport England, the NHS and United Nations.

And he has a number of stadium and festival bookings lined up for this summer if all lockdown measures are lifted on June 21.

He added: “The next few months are looking really exciting. I have loads of new music ready which I’ll be releasing very soon. You might even hear some of these new tracks at my upcoming shows.”

Kishan began recording his sessions after realising morale was low among colleagues.

He told the Observer: “Working on a respiratory ward and across A&E, myself and my colleagues were facing both physical and emotional challenges. I decided to launch NHSessions to bring a smile to my colleagues and friends closest to me.

“It was having an amazing impact around the world, I was overwhelmed by the support so I kept going.”
