DETERMINED fund-raisers from Rugby braved the rain to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in a Memory Walk at Draycote Water.
Staff from home care company Home Instead Rugby raised £1,254 for the charity at the event, held during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month to draw attention to dementia and its impact on families.
Though thunder and lightning warnings loomed throughout the day, the team finished the walk in constant pouring rain.
Care Manager Jane Hughes said: “The weather was challenging, but our passion for the cause kept us going.
“We are proud to have raised £1,254 for the Alzheimer’s Society and to have been part of such an important initiative that helps raise awareness and funding for dementia care and research.”
The funds raised will support the Alzheimer’s Society work in advancing research and supporting individuals and families living with dementia.
