A CYCLIST has received advanced trauma care from the ambulance service before being airlifted to hospital after a collision in Rugby yesterday (Tuesday November 11).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist at the junction of Bilton Road and May Lane, at around 8.50am.
Two ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find an off-duty nurse providing care to a cyclist, a woman, who had reportedly been involved in a collision with a car.
“The woman was in a serious condition and received advanced trauma care at the scene before being airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further emergency care.”
