Communities in Rugby offered help to transform outdoor spaces

Rugby Editorial 17th Mar, 2022   0

COMMUNITIES in the Rugby area can get help sprucing up their outdoor spaces under an initiative on offer from a local garden centre.

Under its Helping Your Community Grow scheme, garden centre Dobbies is offering advice, products and time to community groups to help them transform their outdoor spaces with ideas such as community allotment projects, wildflower gardens, or calming outdoor spaces for boosting mental health.

Graeme Jenkins, CEO of Dobbies said: “We had a brilliant variety of applications last year in Rugby and it was great to see local community spaces, school vegetable patches and memorial gardens benefit from our support.

“This year we are particularly keen to hear from projects in Rugby which have a sustainable focus to their work, and our teams will share their knowledge of sustainable products and practices to ensure a truly eco-friendly approach.”

In addition to the regional winners of Dobbies’ Helping Your Community Grow initiative, one national winner will receive further support.

Visit www.dobbies.com/helping-your-community-grow to apply. Eligible projects must be located within 20 miles of the Dobbies store on the Straight Mile B4453, off the A45. The closing date for applications is Friday March 25.
