A COCAINE and cannabis dealer from Rugby has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison following a police investigation.

Sam Morgan, 24, formerly of Grendon Drive, received the sentence for possession of the two drugs with intent to supply at Warwick Crown Court.

In November 2020, police raided Morgan’s then home and found large amounts of the drugs along with cash, scales and mobile phones which had messages on them related to drug dealing.

Morgan was later charged with the offences and subsequently pleaded guilty at court.

Following the hearing, investigating officer Det Con Matthew Rapkins from Rugby Proactive CID said: “We welcome the custodial sentence which reflects the serious nature of the offence committed.

“The supply of illegal drugs causes misery in our communities and we are committed to bringing offenders to justice.

“The public play a vital role in making us aware of suspicious activity, and we continue to ask anyone who suspects drug dealing in their area to please let us know.”
