Rugby Editorial 10th Sep, 2014 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016

CLASSIC cars and bacon butties were on the menu at Lutterworth MOT Centre – raising nearly £450 for 1st Lutterworth Scouts.

Turnpike Close was filled with 39 vintage and unique vehicles from around the area, ranging from a 1934 Standard 12 to a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS – better known to Transformers fans as Bumblebee.

The Car of the Show award went to a 1957 Land Rover Series 1, known to its owner as Claude 2. The runner up, only two votes behind, was a 1972 Ford Escort Mk1 Mexico.

Other vehicles on show included a Ferrari 308 GTSi, Austin K9, Ford Corsair, VW T25 campervan, Yamaha XJ900S trike, Reliant Scimitar GTE, Ford Capri 2.8iS, three Wolseleys and four Triumphs.

Lutterworth MOT Centre thanked everybody who supported the event, donated money or took part in the raffle.

Top right – A 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS (aka Bumblebee) and a Ferrari 308 GTSi were among the stars of the show.
