Charity looking for new recruits to help the disabled

A CHARITY is looking for new recruits to help people with learning and physical disabilities.

New Directions is holding a recruitment day next weekend to add new Support Workers to its growing team.

The charity offers support services that let users make their own choices, maximise their independence, learn new skills and make new friends.

Support Workers provide personal, physical and emotional support to people who require assistance to live the life they choose at home and in the community.

Human Resources Manager Lorna Brindley said: “Our Recruitment Day is a chance to find out more about what it means to be a Support Worker at New Directions, and to apply for the available roles.

“We can offer great career prospects for existing Support Workers or those new to the role with full training, a voluntary healthcare cashplan, and an employee assistance programme.

“You could make a real difference in your community.”

Visitors to the recruitment day can talk to managers about training, career opportunities, shift work, casual work or how to apply.

It takes place at the charity’s head office at 27 Bilton Road from 10am to 2pm on Saturday (April 6).
