HOUSEKEEPING staff at Overslade House care home have been thanked by residents for their hard work and dedication during Housekeeping Week.
The home’s housekeeping team were treated to personal pamper gifts such as room diffusers, bath bombs, scented candles and aloe vera cream, and residents were quick to give thanks and help the team by assisting with their daily cleaning schedule.
Residents and staff also reminisced about how housekeeping had changed during their lifetimes. Residents talked about when they first got domestic appliances such as washing machines and vacuum cleaners, and how their lives were changed by advances in technology over the years.
Housekeeping Week is an annual event held every year during the second week in September, to recognise the efforts of hard-working housekeeping staff around the world.
The home’s general manager Violetta Baesu said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate Housekeeping Week and thank our fantastic staff for all that they do with a gift. They were thrilled that their efforts and hard work were recognised and appreciated.”
