Rugby Editorial 26th Mar, 2022   0

A YOUNG teenage boy has been arrested following a police chase in which a stolen VW Golf crashed into a parked car.

The chase began on Thursday afternoon (March 24) when police tried to stop the car in Leamington Road, Ryton-on-Dunsmore.

Officers reported the suspect drove at high speeds on the wrong side of the road before the collision ended the short pursuit.

Further enquiries showed the car had been stolen following a break in at a business in Fenny Compton earlier in the year.

A 14-year-old boy from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

The boy was later bailed while enquires continue.

Warwickshire Police is appealing for any witnesses or anyone with footage of the pursuit to get in touch. Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident 196 of March 24. Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
