Bear with us - Paddington guides children on town centre hunt

BEAR with us – Paddington has been in Rugby to guide children on a global-themed hunt around the town centre.

The loveable character popped in to independent shops around the town centre to help kids find clues along the Paddington Bear trail – which challenged them to solve clues, complete activities and collect stamps to claim a prize during the summer holidays.

Businesses which took part in the trail – organised by Hunt’s Bookshop and Rugby First – included Sass, Nuova, Mala, Copper Tree, The Annex, Carvells, Wild and Free, Rugby Electrical, Eliza Dolittle, Stella Interiors, Izzy Loops, Rugby Hotel, Shine a Light and Don’t Tell Mum.

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “The Paddington Bear Trail – along with other activities, including the Hidden History tour and workshops, which took place in the town centre over the summer holidays – proved to be a real hit with visitors and businesses alike.

“As well as everyone having some fun it was also a great way to bring people into the town in what is traditionally a quieter time of year for trading.”

Christopher Hunt from Hunt’s Bookshop added: “We were delighted with the interest and response we had with the trail, with hundreds taking part throughout the summer. Paddington Bear proved to be incredibly popular and generated a huge amount of interest on social media channels as well as through the face-to-face contact.”
