Baseball bat attack leaves Rugby shopkeeper injured

A BRUTAL assault with a baseball bat and a glass jar left a shopkeeper with serious injuries.

The 30-year-old man was attacked by three white men when he was working in a Church Street shop on Tuesday October 28 at 6.40pm.

The men, pictured, approached the counter and became involved in an altercation with him. One of them swung a wooden implement at the staff member several times, and another broke a glass jar on his head.

The three men left the shop and turned left in the direction of Railway Terrace.




The victim was treated in Walsgrave Hospital for serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows who these men may be, is urged to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 304 of October 28.
