THE VICTIM of an assault was followed by his two assailants as he drove through town.

The assault took place in Goldsmith Avenue on Thursday October 15 at around 7:15pm.

Two cars – thought to be a dark-coloured Ford KA a dark blue VW Golf – followed the victim as he left the M6 at junction one and drove down Leicester Road, Newbold Road and Corporation Street, onto the gyratory and along Dunchurch Road.

When the victim turned into Goldsmith Avenue, the offenders boxed him in, got out of their cars and demanded the victim hand over his car.

When he refused, the offenders assaulted him. No injuries were sustained and no property was taken.

One of the offenders is described as an Asian man, about 5ft 10’in tall, of a medium build with short black hair. He was thought to be in his 20s and wearing a grey sweater.

The other is described as a white man with short blonde curly hair and is thought to be in his early 20s. He is thought to be between 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and was wearing a white t-shirt with a blue motif on the front.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has seen men matching these descriptions is asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting reference number 305 of Thursday October 15.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
