12-year-old boy assaulted by pensioner in Rugby

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was punched on the nose by a stranger during an assault in Rugby.

The boy was playing a game on Leicester Road near to traffic lights at the junction with Newbold Road around 8.30am on Tuesday, June 23 when he was approached by an unknown man.

After a brief exchange, the man grabbed the boy and punched him once to the nose before running off in an unknown direction.

The man is described as aged between 60 and 70 with grey or blond short hair.




At the time of the incident he was believed to be wearing a black coat and jeans.

And Warwickshire Police are keen to hear from anyone with information.


Investigating officer PC Ketley said: “We are hopeful somebody will have seen something given the incident took place next to a busy junction and traffic is often at a standstill at 8.30am. If you think you may have seen something please get in touch.”
