Four players in for new Rugby Town boss Gary Mills

Rugby Editorial 9th Jun, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016

NEW RUGBY Town boss Gary Mills has wasted no time in building his squad for next season after drafting in four new players this week.

Young defender Ben Jackson has agreed to join Valley after being released by Northampton Town.

The 18-year-old centre back had a squad number at the Cobblers but never made a first team apperance.

Mills has also moved to secure the services of midfielders Steve Towers, Rob Parker and Kurtis Revan.

Former Corby, Brackley, Stamford and Worksop midfielder Towers, who turns 30 next month, finished last season with Shepshed Dynamo where he picked up a couple of Player of the Season accolades.

Parker joins the club from Bedford Town where he worked under Valley’s new assistant Craig Adams.

The young player, who has also played for Wellingborough, scored ten goals from midfield and was also rewarded with two Player of the Season awards at The New Eyrie.

Revan joins the club after a spell with Corby Town in the Southern League Premier in the second part of last season.

The 19-year-old winger was a scholar with Derby County before joining Oadby Town where he impressed before joining up with Corby in January 2015.

And Kurtis made his Corby Town debut at Butlin Road as a substitute against Rugby in the Southern League Cup.

All four players will join up with new manager Mills and the squad at the end of this month when pre-season begins for the 2015/16 season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South.

Valley have also confirmed that right-back Ben George has decided to move to Leamington Brakes.
