ROB O’Connor, from Rugby, won another national title at the British Masters Cycle Racing Circuit Championships in Colchester, Essex.

Riding on the one-mile purpose-built cycle circuit for the first time, O’Connor secured a fourth national title of the season.

After one hour and three laps of racing, O’Connor sprinted to victory over the final 300 metres.

O’Connor then raced in the John Hinksman Memorial event at Darley Moor Sports Centre near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.

The race, O’Connor’s final race of the year, combined younger age categories with older ones over a one and a half mile circuit.

And the race also featured 1990s National Circuit champion and former professional rider David Miller.

O’Connor formed part of a seven-rider breakaway group early on along with Miller.

The Rugby rider tried to split the group with 10 laps to go only for the group to remain intact.

Despite a late charge from Dean Sibthorpe and Miller, O’Connor lunged his bike towards the line in a seven-man sprint finish to claim his 15th race win of the season.

As the overall race winner, O’Connor claimed the John Hinksman Trophy.
