RUGBY Borough exited the FA Cup at the extra preliminary round stage following a 1-0 defeat against Kidsgrove Athletic.
The game’s only goal came on 17 minutes as Macauley Taylor’s strike settled the contest at the Fitzjohn Stadium.
Borough and Kidsgrove both play at Step Four with Rugby in the Northern Premier League Midlands and the latter side in the West division.
The hosts broke the deadlock just past the quarter-hour mark when Taylor received a quick throw-in and drove forward before finishing past Carl O’Neil.
Rugby begin their league campaign against Boldmere St Michaels on Saturday, August 9 kick-off at 3pm at the Amber Arena.
