RUGBY Borough romped to a 5-1 victory away at Yaxley to move up to second in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.
Borough recovered from an early setback to lead at the break as Gez McGahey and Rio Henson turned the game in the away side’s favour at APG Park.
And a brace from David Kolodynski took the game out of Yaxley’s reach before Brady Middleton completed the scoring for the visitors.
The result means Rugby sit second in the United Counties League Premier Division South table, four points behind leaders St Neots Town with a game in-hand.
Borough fell behind when Denys Dushkin scooped the ball into the net following a corner.
However, Rugby equalised as McGahey lashed an unstoppable effort into the bottom right corner.
And Borough completed the turnaround moments before half time when Henson finished from a tight angle after a period of sustained pressure.
Rugby stretched their lead after the break as Henson beat the offside trap and squared the ball to Kolodynski who applied the finish.
The visitors all but sealed the points soon after when Kolodynski’s glancing header from a free-kick found the net.
Borough added their fifth goal late on as Danny Fraser beat the offside trap and squared for Middleton to poke home.
Rugby are next in action against Aylestone Park on Saturday, January 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Saffron Lane.
