BOURTON and Frankton conceded two late goals in a 3-2 defeat against higher division Triumph Athletic to exit the Major Boyd Carpenter Cup at the first hurdle.
The visitors came from behind to take the lead as Clifford Awuah and Stuart McQuillan both struck at Triumph Sports Ground.
However, Triumph, who play two divisions above Bourton, scored two late goals to deny the visitors a place in the second round.
Triumph took the lead from the penalty spot only for Awuah to draw Bourton level with a spot kick of his own to score his sixth goal in three games.
Bourton goalkeeper Jack Downie made a number of fine saves to keep the scores level before McQuillan netted on 68 minutes to compete the turnaround.
However, Triumph equalised on 81 minutes before Bourton hit the crossbar and the home side scored again four minutes later in a frantic finish as the visitors also had two efforts cleared off the line.
Bourton are next in action against Tiffin Box on Saturday, November 9 with kick-off at 2.15pm at The Place.
