HARRISON Nee scored a late equaliser and saw red in injury time as Rugby Town rescued a point in a 1-1 draw with Boldmere St. Michaels.

Nee levelled the game on 88 minutes to cancel out Liam Murphy’s opener before receiving a straight red card in injury time at Butlin Road.

The result means Valley sit ninth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

Boldmere broke the deadlock after just six minutes when Murphy guided home Harry Sweeney’s cross at the near post.

Valley almost drew level after the break as Mikey Taylor saw his effort saved by Boldmere goalkeeper Jonathan Brown.

Boldmere spurned a number of chances to seal the points as Alfie Taylor blazed over and substitute Sean Devlin twice failed to find the net from promising positions.

However, Valley equalised with two minutes left to play when Nee headed in Trey Charles’ corner at the back post via a deflection off Boldmere captain George Cleet.

And Nee somehow failed to completed the turnaround moments later after taking the ball past Brown only to shoot across the face of goal with an empty net in front of him.

Nee then received a straight red card four minutes into injury time following an altercation with Daniel Gyasi after the latter delayed the restart.

Rugby are next in action away at Sporting Khalsa on Saturday, September 28 with kick-off at 3pm at Noose Lane.
