COMMUNITY projects in Lutterworth have received a windfall funded by developers.
Harborough District Council (HDC) has handed out over £235,000 of Section 106 money – funding received from developers for community projects and social infrastructure in locations where development has taken place.
Lutterworth Athletic Football Club received £45,780 to complete the building of a club and community hub that will encompass health and wellbeing education, mental health support, exercise and diet, counselling and treatments.
Lutterworth Town Council was given £45,780 to change the internal layout of a pavilion that will encompass community health and wellbeing activities.
Bowmen of Glen Archery Society in Great Glen received £147,160 to extend its existing clubhouse to accommodate an indoor archery area.
HDC leader Coun Phil Knowles said: “I am really pleased that we can direct this funding to the heart of our communities.
“By awarding this money we are supporting residents by improving much-loved local spaces and helping people with mental wellbeing.”
