Second helping of Rugby Food Festival to be served up next weekend

ANYONE for seconds? Rugby’s second Food and Drink Festival of the year is being served up on Saturday (September 21).

The popular event takes place in and around Regent Street, St Andrew’s Church and Rugby Baptist Church, featuring over 40 stalls selling a variety of food and drink from around the world.

A pop-up demonstration kitchen will feature chefs preparing dishes, taking questions from the audience and offering samples of their recipes.

Carvells Electrical will host a live NEFF cooking demonstration, at which home economist Karen Walker will cook several recipes to show how to get the best from appliances and choose the right oven for different cooking styles.

The event will also feature live music performances, a funfair, face painting, and more.

Linda Lowne, Business Director of event organisers Rugby First, said: “The Food and Drink Festival is one of my favourite town centre events and it is great to see it return, and the fact it is fully booked again is fantastic.

“In addition to significantly increasing town centre footfall and spend it also creates an added buzz and excitement which is great for everyone.

“As always, I would like to thank St Andrew’s Church, Rugby Baptist Church and all those businesses that are involved and supporting the event.

“It’s also worth mentioning that the event, along with support from Rugby Borough Council, is primarily funded by the levy paying businesses in the town centre. It is important to support these businesses not only on the day of the event but every week by shopping locally in Rugby wherever possible.

“A special thank you also to Carvels Electricals, who will be hosting live NEFF Cooking demonstrations in store during the festival.”

Rugby’s Autumn Food and Drink Festival takes place between 11am and 5pm on Saturday 21 September.
