Revamped gym at Lutterworth Leisure Centre already proving a hit

A REVAMPED gym at Lutterworth Leisure Centre has re-opened – and is already proving a hit with fitness fanatics.

Following a successful refurbishment project at the centre, the gym has been improved with new state-of-the-art equipment installed, upgrading of air conditioning, gym decor refreshed, and additional upgrades to the group exercise studio.

The cycling studio now enjoys a disco atmosphere with upgraded, modern lighting and brand-new Keiser spin bikes installed to further embellish the spin class experience.

The facility’s name has changed from Lutterworth Sports Centre to Lutterworth Leisure Centre, to reflect the range of activities and spaces on offer.

One gym user said: “I like all the new equipment, I like the fact that it’s all really clean and everyone is very welcoming and helpful.”

Another added: “Loving the new gym, it’s cooler than the old one, we’ve actually got some air conditioning and the equipment is amazing so it’s great for me.”

Harborough District Council’s leisure spokeswoman Coun Jo Asher said: “It is rewarding to hear such great feedback from gym visitors to Lutterworth Leisure Centre.

“The new name really reflects the upgraded range of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the superb facilities on offer, with improvements at the centre still ongoing.

“We continue to invest and support the health and wellbeing of local residents with the refurbishment of Harborough Leisure Centre progressing on schedule. We also work closely with local communities across the rural Harborough district to deliver a wide range of outreach events and activities.”

Matthew Hopkin – the contract manager for Everyone Active, which runs the leisure centre on behalf of the council – said: “It was great to welcome visitors to the new gym and receive positive feedback.

“Anyone who would like help or support with using the new equipment can book in for an in-person group introduction on the Everyone Active app, or with reception.”

The improvements come as part of the council’s £6million council capital investment into its two leisure centres, at Lutterworth and Market Harborough, which was announced last December.
