WARWICKSHIRE secured a home quarter-final in the One-Day Cup despite losing their final group game against Nottinghamshire at Rugby School.
A rain-affected match saw the visitors claim a 12-run victory via the Duckworth-Lewis Method.
The result means the Bears will host Worcestershire at Edgbaston in the quarter-finals today (Friday, August 16).
Playing in their third and final One-Day Cup match at Rugby School, Warwickshire lost the toss and batted first with the start delayed due to drizzle.
Reduced to 48 overs a side, the Bears lost debutant Zen Malik (1) in the fourth over to the bowling of James Hayes (1-28).
Bears opener Ed Barnard (31) hit six fours before he was trapped LBW by Robert Lord (3-24) while Will Rhodes (22) was run out by Hayes.
The home side continued to make steady progress before Liam Patterson-White (3-26) bowled Michael Burgess (29) to leave the Bears on 96-4.
And after Chris Benjamin (22) fell to Matt Montgomery (2-38) the Bears suffered a mini-collapse with Kai Smith (14) falling in the same over and Theo Wylie (1) in the next.
Tail order runs from Jake Lintott (27), Michael Booth (12) and Tazeem Ali (13 not out) saw the Bears bowled out for 182 in the 47th over.
Needing quick wickets, the Bears made a good start with the ball as Barnard (1-31) accounted for Freddie McCann (6) in the third over.
And Booth (1-31) claimed the wicket of Ben Slater (17) the following over while Lintott (3-38) struck twice in quick succession to remove Haseeb Hameed (11) and Montgomery (5) before the rain returned.
Upon play resuming, Lintott trapped Sam King (2) LBW to leave the visitors in trouble on 62-5 as Haynes (57 not out) and Tom Moores (30 not out) helped Notts reach 135-5 after 28 overs as the visitors claimed a D/L victory.
Warwickshire host local rivals Worcestershire today (Friday, August 16) with the game to start at 11am.
