Talented Rugby youngsters invited to showcase skills in prestigious national competitions

TALENTED youngsters in Rugby are being invited to showcase their skills in the local rounds of a number of prestigious national competitions.

In January and February, the Youth Service Committee of the town’s three Rotary Clubs is inviting young people aged eight to 18 to take part in Rotary’s Young Chef, Young Environmentalist, Young Musician, Young Photographer and Young Writer competitions.

The Rugby clubs are also inviting nominations for Young Citizen, and in June and July Young Artists can submit their work to be displayed in a summer public exhibition.

A spokesperson for Rotary in Rugby said: “This is not just about finding winners. Rotary wants all these competitions to be celebrations of the talent of all those who enter.

“Year after year, the Rugby public are stunned by the quality of young people’s presentation and performance. Help us make this the best year yet!”

The Young Musician is the first competition in 2024, with an entry deadline of January 19. The competition will take place on January 24 at Lawrence Sheriff School.
