ROYALLY resilient Rugbeians shrugged off the rain to celebrate the King’s Coronation over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Caldecott Park was filled with families and live entertainment as residents came together to watch the coronation of King Charles III on the big screen on Saturday (May 6).
Elsewhere, families, friends and communities came together across the borough to share food and fun at their own celebrations and street parties for the Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday (May 7).
Families searched for crowns on the Coronation Crown Trail in the town centre, which was dressed with Union Jack and Coronation Flags to mark the historic occasion.
And the Clock Tower became the canvas for a coronation-themed projection – 70 years after it was famously bathed in lights and topped with a giant crown to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
