LIFE-saving equipment is now available for the public to use in Hillmorton.
A defibrillator has been installed on the wall outside the The Red Lion pub in High Street thanks to determined community fund-raisers.
The Friends of East Rugby Group (FERG) encouraged businesses, individuals and organisations to raise over £1,000 at events such as a community market and a family fun day over the last year, with the remaining £1,000 coming from a Warwickshire County Council (WCC) grant fund.
FERG secretary Audrey Rooney-Ellis said the response to the cause was ‘absolutely brilliant’.
She added: “Without the support of our local community we would not have been able to get such a life-saving piece of kit so quickly.
“We cannot thank everyone individually but special mention goes to local pubs The Red Lion, The Bell and The Stag and Pheasant, WCC for the generous grant, Crown Technical Services, FiltaSonix UK, and everyone who attended our events, donated, and spread the word about our fundraising activities.”
Training is being organised on how to use the defibrillator through West Midlands Ambulance Service. Contact FERG via www.facebook.com/FriendsEastRugbyGroup or [email protected] to secure a place on a training session.
