AN ANNUAL black tie dinner has again raised thousands towards the fight against cancer.
Members of the Rugby Cancer Ball charity handed a cheque for over £16,000 to representatives of Myton Hospice, Arden Cancer Care, Teenage Cancer Trust and Rugby Care Bureau.
The money was raised at last year’s Studio 54-themed ball, taking the total donated by the charity in the last five years to over £150,000.
The event, which has been running for 50 years, returns to Dunchurch Park Hotel on September 21 on a ‘fire and ice’ theme – and organisers are looking for prizes for raffle or auction.
The charity’s chair and trustee Nick Jones said: “The ball would not take place without kind and generous support of people or companies.
“Please help us to make sure that anyone facing cancer in Rugby has the very best support they need and deserve.”
Call Nick on 07753 672265 or email [email protected] to donate a prize.
