STAR Wars and Harry Potter star Warwick Davis stopped off in Rugby for a coffee.

Hundreds of fans turned up to welcome the actor – who played Ewok Wicket in Star Wars and Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films – as he officially opened Kuni’s Coffee & Comics new store in Market Place which has relocated to Market Place from High Street.

Mr Davis, who signed autographs and posed for photographs, said he was thrilled to be in Rugby and thanked all those who turned out to meet him.

Kuni’s offers a different take on the traditional coffee shop – offering refreshments alongside a range of popular culture merchandise, from comics to comics to T-Shirts.

Owner Bryan Kuni said he was keen to support the town centre in the face of pressure from online shopping and out of town retail parks, and had invested a considerable amount of money in the new store.

Mr Kuni, who also has shops in Daventry and Northampton, has had a lifelong interest in comics, movies and music and inherited a large collection of classic comics from his father.
