RUGBY’S little helpers were praised by the town’s MP as they pulled out all the stops to make sure Christmas cards and presents arrived on time.
Mark Pawsey visited Rugby Royal Mail Delivery Office to pass on season’s greetings to hardworking postmen and postwomen.
He was shown around the office by Delivery Office Manager Simon Kirkland, and introduced to the staff who sort and deliver mail in Rugby over Christmas.
Mr Pawsey said: “There is a huge amount of work that goes into organising and delivering a first class Christmas.
“I was delighted to meet the team here in Rugby and thank them for all that they do throughout the year, but especially at Christmas.”
Delivery Office Manager Simon Kirkland said: “Our postmen and women are working extremely hard to deliver Christmas cards, letters and parcels to people across Rugby.
“We’d like to remind our customers to post early so that friends and family have longer to enjoy their Christmas greetings and to ask everyone to always use a postcode to help us get your cards and presents to the right place.”
The last recommended posting dates for Christmas are Wednesday December 20 for second class, Thursday December 21 for first class, and Friday December 22 for special delivery.
