LONELY people can find companionship on Christmas Day once again, thanks to volunteers at the Benn Partnership Centre.
The centre will host a Community Christmas Day Event on the big day, where visitors can join in games before tucking into a three-course meal with turkey or vegetarian options.
Ian Southcott from Cemex – which has again donated £500 to fund the event – said: “Cemex is delighted to once again support the Benn Partnership Centre Christmas Day lunch. We have been doing so for more than ten years and look forward to being able to help out for many years to come.”
Coun Ramesh Srivastava, a trustee at the Centre, said: “It is completely free and everyone is welcome.
“There is no need for people to be alone this Christmas. They are invited to join in the fun at the Benn Partnership Centre.”
He thanked Cemex, Adsa, local businesses and volunteers for their support.
The event will run from 10.30am to 4pm on Monday December 25. Numbers are limited. Book a place by calling the centre on (01788) 553033 before December 15.
