Burglar jailed after stealing from Rugby home

A BURGLAR has been jailed after he stole jewellery and car keys from a Rugby home.

Aiden Henry, 28, pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary at Warwick Crown Court on November 9, and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.

An internal CCTV camera recorded the burglary in Woolscott back in July, and Henry was tracked down following a public appeal.

PC Stephen Hill said: “I am pleased with the sentence, Aiden Henry has shown a lack of respect for other peoples’ property and a disregard of how victims feel when they are subjected to a burglary from their home, a place that they are meant to feel safe and secure.”

“Any information after an appeal or report of an offense can dramatically accelerate an investigation and, in some cases, provide the key information needed to lead to an arrest.

“As such I would like to thank the local community for its assistance with this case. All those who came forward with information and shared our appeal assisted with this positive outcome.

“We fully welcome the court’s decision with this sentence.”
