THE PAST and future of Rugby rail travel will be on the agenda at a meeting on Wednesday (October 4).
A representative of London Midland, which has been given an extension to its franchise until December, will speak to the Rugby Rail Users Group (RRUG).
London Midland’s head of corporate affairs Francis Thomas will take stock of the company’s performance and give group members an idea of what to expect when it hands over to West Midlands Trains on December 10.
RRUG chair Stephanie Clifford said: “The London Midland team have brought us fast trains, cheap fares and better service frequencies. For ten years, they have been good at communicating with us here in Rugby.
“This meeting is our opportunity to set the scene for the future, as well as sharing our experiences of the past decade of train operations.”
RRUG is already in contact with West Midlands Trains and will be seeking a meeting with them in the near future.
The meeting will take place at the Claremont Centre, 43 Clifton Road, Rugby, at 7.15pm. The meeting is open to all RRUG members. Non-members can join at the door.
