A SUSPECTED arsonist has been charged by police after a flat caught fire on Tuesday (July 18).
Matthew Slack, 47, from Blackman Way, Rugby was charged yesterday (Wednesday July 19) with arson with intent – ‘reckless as to whether life was endangered’.
Fire crews and police were alerted to the blaze in Blackman Way at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.
On arrival the crew could see flames from the top floor of the building.

Mr Slack is due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court today (Thursday July 20).
