A BLIND dog who had his eyes removed is hoping for a new home to help keep his tail wagging.

Lakeland Terrier cross Andy was taken into Rugby-based Pawprints Dog Rescue when he had already lost his sight, but due to being in a lot of pain he had to undergo surgery to remove both his eyes.

Now the five year-old dog has fully healed and needs a new home.

And he’s looking his best after becoming the first dog to visit The Groom Room which recently opened at Pets At Home in Leamington.

A spokeswoman from Pawprints – which saves dogs from death row in council pounds – said: “Through all the pain this little lad has been through, Andy’s tail has never stopped.

“When he arrived in kennels he was blind and in quite a bit of pain so underwent surgery to remove his eyes. He is now fully recovered and has healed well.

“Because Andy is blind he can be a little reactive when dogs are within his personal space, but has no aggression. This is because he can not see the other dogs body language so he would benefit from further socialisation.

“He handles being blind really well and manages to move around with limited problems but may need some changes within his new home.

“He is a happy chappy and is just looking for a loving new home where humans can help him live his life to the max.”
