RUGBY Swimming Club’s senior artistic swimmers won medals in all four categories the club entered at the Regional Championships.
The club displayed their prowess in the water once again at the Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham.
Rugby’s senior squad swimmers, aged 15-years-old and above, competed across a range of events.
This included technical, free and acrobatic team routines and the free duet.
And Rugby secured gold medals in every team category and also took silver in the free duet.
The free duet pair of Lola Huett and Frankie Klym took silver despite taking to the water as some of the youngest athletes in the category.
Rugby’s technical team opened the competition and took gold with a high energy routine set to the dance anthem ‘Everybody Dance Now’.
Swimmers Olivia Barry, Chloe Bartholomew, Matilda John, Imogen Ravenhall, Tyra Watson, Amy Buckley, Valentina Kapiris and Emilia Owen delivered a precise and powerful performance to take gold and set the tone.
In the free team event, the squad of Watson, Barry, Ravenhall, Bartholomew, John, Buckley, Huett and Klym also won gold for a dramatic and expressive routine themed around the rising phoenix.
Rugby’s acrobatic team of Beatrice Banks,Kapiris, Saranne Black, Darcey Townsend, Chloe Barrett-Leafe, Owen and Rebecca Harper then secured the final team gold of the competition.
Another high energy routine, set to Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, saw Rugby stand on top of the podium once again.
The Regional Championships marked the first competition of the season for Rugby’s senior squad.
Rugby’s squad used the event as valuable preparation ahead of the National Championships at the end of this month.
