Local authority leads tributes following death of respected Lutterworth councillor

A BELOVED and respected Lutterworth councillor has died.

Coun David Gair represented Lutterworth East at Harborough District Council since 2023, having previously been a long-standing member of Lutterworth Town Council.

A Harborough District Council spokesperson said: “Harborough District Council is saddened to hear that Coun David Gair has passed away.

“Coun Gair was passionate about representing his community.




“Prior to joining Harborough District Council, he served as a town council representative on the Standards Committee, and following his election, was appointed chair of the Audit and Standards Committee as well as serving on the Planning Committee.”

John Richardson, Chief Executive of Harborough District Council, added: “Coun Gair quickly became a highly respected member of the council following his election in 2023.


“As officers, we respected his passion for the community and his support as chair of the Audit and Standards Committee.

“We send our deepest condolences to David’s family and friends at this very sad time.”

Details of tributes and funeral arrangements will be confirmed in line with the family’s wishes at a later date.
