A MAN and a woman have appeared in court to face additional charges following the death of a 13-month-old girl in Rugby.
Kinga Wydrzynska, 25, of Johnson Avenue in Rugby, and Michal Stasiak, 27, of Blackwood Avenue in Rugby, previously appeared in court having been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
The girl died in hospital on January 7 after being taken ill at a house in Rugby.
Stasiak had also been charged with possession of indecent images.
They appeared before magistrates in Leamington on Friday (December 12) and were charged with two counts of sexual assault in relation to the 13-month-old child that died.
They were also charged with three counts of assault/ill-treat/neglect/abandon a child/young person to cause unnecessary suffering/injury, relating to the 13-month-old child that died and two other children.
Wydrzynska and Stasiak were remanded and will next appear before Warwick Crown Court on Friday January 9.
