Parents invited to consultation events on Warwickshire's home to school transport policy

PARENTS across Warwickshire are invited to take part in consultation events on the proposed changes to home to school transport.

Warwickshire County Council is looking to make changes to its home to school transport policy to make the service fairer, more consistent, and fully aligned with national guidance.

A public consultation is taking place online at ask.warwickshire.gov.uk/bi/home-to-school until January 4.

And to support this, a series of consultation events are being run to give residents the chance to learn more about the proposals, ask questions, and share their views directly. The events will be both in person and online to make it easy for everyone to take part.

Online (Microsoft Teams) sessions are taking place on Tuesday November 25, Thursday November 27, Wednesday December 3, Wednesday December 10 and Wednesday December 17. There will be a drop-in event at Rugby Library on Monday December 15.

WCC’s transport spokesperson Coun Jennifer Warren said: “These events are a vital part of the consultation process. They give parents, carers, and young people the chance to understand the proposed changes and share their views face-to-face or online.

“We want a policy that reflects national standards and meets the long-term needs of Warwickshire communities. I strongly encourage everyone to attend a session and have their say.”

All feedback received from the consultation will be reviewed and presented to Cabinet. If approved, the revised policy will apply to applications submitted from September 1 2026 onwards.
