Psychological thriller next up at Rugby Theatre

A PSYCHOLOGICAL thriller highlighting the thin line between fiction and reality is taking to the stage at Rugby Theatre later this month.

Mindgame is set in a secluded asylum for the criminally insane, where journalist Mark Styler arrives hoping to interview a notorious serial killer for his next book – but nothing, and no one, is quite what they seem.

As tension mounts, the lines between sanity and madness blur in a chilling game of cat and mouse, keeping audiences guessing right up to the final moment.

Director Ash Hirons said: “I was looking for a psychological thriller, and as soon as I read the play I knew it was exactly what I wanted.

“There are lots of twists and some dark humour to lighten the mood. A perfect blend.”

Written by acclaimed author Anthony Horowitz, Mindgame’s dialogue is brought to life by Rugby Theatre’s performers, with the institution room set design contributing to the haunting and disorientating atmosphere.

Ash added: “This production was originally scheduled for May 2020 and was postponed due to the pandemic. It’s dedicated to the memory of Mark Baird who was in the cast then and has since passed away.

“Mindgame is a journey into perception and reality, laced with humour, that toys with the audience right up to the end of the play.

“Don’t miss your chance to experience one of Anthony Horowitz’s most thrilling works live on stage – and be prepared to question everything you think you know.”

Mindgame runs from November 22-29, with discounted Early Bird £14 tickets available for the Monday-Wednesday shows.
