Rugby to host first ever Fire and Ice Spectacular

Andy Morris 10th Nov, 2025   0

A FIRE and Ice Spectacular is blazing into Rugby town centre for the first time later this month.

The free event on Sunday November 30 will feature a magical trail that takes visitors on a festive journey of discovery including ice sculptures, fire beacons, live carving shows, a carving wall, story-telling, music, dance, fire breathing, walkabout characters, festive craft activities, Father Christmas, a funfair, food, toasted marshmallows, face painting and more.

At the heart of the trail will be a series of ice sculptures which will be illuminated after dark.

Visitors will be able to try their hand at ice carving, watch the ‘Fire and Ice’ show, enjoy some amazing photo-opportunities, and write and post a letter to Santa in the frozen post box.

Fire beacons will guide attendees around the trail and reveal more magical surprises – fire pits and toasted marshmallows, Christmas Tales in a yurt, fire breathing, a living nativity, The Snowman movie, hot chocolate, mulled wine and Santa’s Grotto.

There will also be plenty of ‘make and take’ festive activities including writing a letter to Santa, creating Christmas cards, icing a gingerbread tree decoration, and making angel lantern decorations.

The event will be accompanied by festive music and dance, including traditional carols under the Christmas lights of St Andrews and Rugby Baptist Church, while Father Christmas, Jack Frost and mischievous elves will greet visitors along the trail.

The event is being organised by Rugby First and Rugby Borough Council.

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “This is the first time the event has taken place, and I am really excited by it.

“It is one of a series of events planned in the town centre in the lead up to Christmas and I would like to thank everyone involved, including Rugby Borough Council, St Andrew’s Church and Rugby Baptist Church.

“We are asking people this year to make a special effort to not only support what promises to be a very special event but at the same time visit and support their local town centre businesses.

“The town centre has some amazing businesses offering some great Christmas gifts, as well as food and drink, and your support on the day and in the lead up to Christmas can make a real difference.”

The Fire and Ice Spectacular takes place between 2pm and 7pm on Sunday November 30. Visit www.rugbyfirst.org for more information.
